Tigernut (Cyperus esculetus) is one of the earliest recorded plants cultivated in ancient Egypt. Cyperyus esculentus is not actually a nut, but a small tuber but it share characteristics with both tubers and nuts, this characteristics makes them an excellent source of anti-oxidants.
