HOW TO BOOST YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM
NATURALLY
The immune
system is a host defense system comprising many biological structures and
processes within an organism that protects the organism against certain
disease.
Immune system is essential for our survival. Without an immune system, our body would be open to attack from bacterial, viruses, parasites and more. It is our immune system that keeps us healthy as we drift through a sea of pathogens.
Everyone immune is different but, as a general rule it
becomes stronger during adulthood, by this time, we have been exposed to more
pathogens and developed more immunity. That’s why teens and adult tend to get
sick less often than children.
Once an
antibody has been produced, a copy remains in the body so that if the same antigen
(a pathogen which are found in body of an organisms that generate or elicit the
response of an anti-bodies) appears again, it can quickly respond to it and can
be dealt with more quickly (Lymphocytes).
Immunodeficiency,
this occur when one or more parts of the immune system do not function. This
can be caused by age, obesity and alcoholism.
Consumption
of some highly processed foods, alcohol, cigarettes… may lead to immune system
depletion which make us more susceptible or prone to attack from virus,
bacterial, parasites and more. Since we
can’t avoid all these processed foods we must find a way of boosting our immune
system.
Feeding your
body certain foods may help keep your immune system strong. These are some of
the natural way to boost your body immune system;
Red bell
peppers: Red peppers contain twice as much as vitamin C in citrus, they are
very rich in beta carotene which helps keep your eyes and healthy skin and also
boosting your immune system.
Broccoli: It
contain vitamins and minerals, packed with vitamin A, C, and E as well as many
anti-oxidants and fiber. Broccoli is one of the healthiest vegetables in the
world.
Ginger:
Ginger may help decrease inflammation which can help reduce a sore throat and
other inflammatory illness. It also decrease nausea.
Spinach: It
is packed beta carotene and numerous anti-oxidants, which may increase fighting
ability of our immune system.
Turmeric: it has been used for many years as an anti-inflammatory in treating both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. High concentration of curcumin in turmeric can help decrease exercise induced muscle damage.
Papaya: high
concentration of vitamin C and digestive enzymes called papain helps against
inflammatory effect.
OTHERS
INCLUDE: Shellfish, Oranges (citrus), Sunflower seeds, Poultry meat, Kiwi
fruit, Green tea and Almonds.
The immune
system is incredibly complicated and vital for our survival. Several different
systems and cell types work in perfect synchrony throughout the body to fight
against pathogens and clear up dead cells.
Always make
sure that you eat healthy because health is wealth.
